Walmart has announced a partnership with Google to allow customers to voice order groceries through their Google assistant-enabled devices.
By simply stating, “Hey Google, talk to Walmart,” to a Google Home, iPhone or Android, shoppers are able to add products directly to their carts. The technology will use shopper history to predict the brands and sizes the customer would prefer. The retailer currently offers grocery pickup at more than 2,000 of its stores with plans to add 1,000 more locations by the end of 2019.
Grocery delivery is an option at 800 of its stores with a expectation of doubling that number by the end of the year.
