The Modiface resource is a digital tool trained on over 6,000 clinical images and 4,500 uploaded selfies of women with a wide range of skin tones and different racial backgrounds. L’Oréal acquired Modiface in 2017 after the application saw success as an augmented beauty tool used primarily on Facebook messenger.
