The XIV International Conference, titled “Entrepreneur and Consumer – Steps Towards Each Other,” was held in December in Moscow.
The conference was orchestrated under the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Consumer Education and Protection Initiative (CEPI) program with support from the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA). Russia DSA (RDSA) and the International Confederation of Consumer Societies (CONFOP) organized the conference. Topics included consumer rights protection, implications of product labeling requirements, small business tax, and worldwide direct selling prospects.
The Ukrainian DSA in collaboration with WFDSA held a conference at the end of 2018. Held in Kiev, the conference, titled “Entrepreneurship and Consumer Rights: Direct Selling on the Wave of Changes,” included such topics as consumer trends, technological advances, consumer rights, tax regulation, and the sociology behind a radical decrease in the desire to start a business in the Ukraine.
