Pinterest is rolling out a new e-commerce feature called Complete the Look, which leverages a “visual discovery engine” to recommend ideas from the broader scene of the room and or outfit shown. Complete the Look uses factors such as outfit style, body type and season for outfits, or room space and aesthetics when regarding home décor, to make product recommendations. Previously, algorithms have been used to predict compatibility, but now an added level of complexity can provide better context when offering shoe styles, for example, that go well with a pictured dress.
