Amazon.com’s fifth-annual Prime Day once again beat the e-commerce giant’s own sales records. Amazon announced that sales from the July 15–16 event beat those of Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2018 combined. The online retailer sold more than 175 million items through its platform while Prime Members purchased more than $2 billion worth of products from third-party marketplace sellers. Members worldwide saved more than $1 billion throughout Prime Day with top-selling items being Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, and Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote. People around the world found more than good deals this year, as millions streamed Prime Day events, including the Prime Day Concert headlined by Taylor Swift.
