A federal court has shut down MyBusiness Empire, known as MOBE, alleging it is a fraudulent enterprise due to false claims, and has frozen the company’s assets at the FTC’s request.
The principles have been charged with bilking more than $125 million from members. Defendants include Matthew Lloyd McPhee, Russell W. Whitney, Jr., Susan Zanghi and several related corporate entities.
The Commission vote approving the complaint was 5-0. The action follows the agency’s recent case against Digital Altitude, LLC, a competing business opportunity scheme that was also halted by court order.
