Nike has launched its first app-integrated stores in Portland, Oregon; Santa Monica and Los Angeles, California; and New York City, with plans to expand the experience to more locations in the near future.
By the use of geofencing technology, retailers are alerted when a user enters the store, which then enables the app to provide store-specific offers. Customers have the capability of checking out on their cellphones, ordering clothing to dressing rooms, and scheduling appointments with in-store stylists.
Other features include curbside service for exchanges and returns, instant reserve to Nike Lockers that allows an app user to reserve products and pick up at the store, and a Nike unlock box, which offers NikePlus members free merchandise via vending machines.
