A study performed by Wunderman Thompson Commerce found that 55 percent of children ages 6 to 16 say they want to buy a product that their favorite YouTube or Instagram star is using or wearing. Fifty-seven percent said seeing ads on Instagram makes them want to buy the product. Forty-six percent of survey respondents have access to an Amazon Prime account and 26 percent said they buy most of their purchases from Amazon. Two-thirds of Gen Alpha consumers are more likely to buy from companies that are trying to do good in the world through charitable work and/or taking sustainable actions.
